Creating DESCAID (pronounced desk aid) has been quite a process, so it is especially exciting to have it all come together and have you reading my first blog!
For years I have taught my patients what they can do to help themselves since most of our aches and pains come from doing the same motions throughout the day. When I asked my patients if they were doing their stretches they often said they did, but only on the rare occasion they remembered to do them. This rare occasion was usually when they were in pain, though on the even rarer occasion they remembered them without the pain reminder, they reported the stretches and movements were great and really worked!
The other thing I know about myself and most people is that there is not one more minute in the day to add something new in. It’s just not realistic to give the average person even 20 minutes worth of exercises or stretches to do every day. That’s why I teach people what they can do while they are working or playing on their computer.
